In the novel The Giver and in the movie 2081, some things are very much the same, however some things are quite different. Both The Giver and 2081 are made to have everyone the same, but the ways they make people the same is very different. In the Giver you have more freedom. In 2081, you have more choice in how you live your life. In both however, laws are very strict. Those are just some of the many similarities and differences between The Giver and 2081. Some similarities between the Giver and 2081 are that they both don't like differences. They want everyone to be equal in ways. They both do things so that people are all the same wether it be athleticism, smarts, or appearance. In both films there is a dystopian protagonist. In the Giver, Jonas is the Dystopian Protagonist. In 2081, Harrison is the Dystopian Protagonist. Both are meant to show that being different doesn´t make you better. It makes you bad and dangerous.
